You will need a Spanish N.I.E number, which is simple to obtain –

You will need to contact the DSS overseas pension department,
they will send you the necessary forms.
They will pay this into your Spanish account.

Yes. If you

Do I require a Spanish will?
Yes. Your
lawyer can draw a will up at the same time you purchase a property.
Q: How do I open
a bank account in Spain?
The process is similar to the U.K.
You will
need to take your passport and 2 additional forms of
identification and a proof of address.
There are English
banks i.e, Halifax and Barclays.
